About KAT & Company

KAT & Company, a positive-impact creative agency in Bismarck, North Dakota, is hiring an experienced Copywriter with particular emphasis on marketing writing and digital content. The successful candidate will support several departments of KAT by crafting smart, persuasive and action-inspiring content for multiple distribution channels. This position is full-time.

Potential Assignments

KAT has a large portfolio of clients in various sectors. Your work will be diverse. Here is a sampling:

  • Client campaigns with blog posts, email marketing, social media, web content and print pieces
  • KAT marketing for product lines, services and new business development
  • E-Campus content adaptations from in-person training or previously written content
  • Annual content strategies and calendars for non-profits or organizations in public health, energy or conservation
Responsibilities
  • Write compelling, easily understood copy that will engage nuanced target audiences and create measurable change using a variety of mediums
  • Develop a keen understanding of audience personas and desired outcomes for both external and internal work
  • Work with creative team to develop strategies for copy and creative
    Research project topics
  • Collect feedback from internal and client reviews and adjust copy accordingly
  • Fact check and proofread all copy for accuracy, readability and appropriate reading level

Versatility is a huge plus for this opening. The position requires both team collaboration and solo work on projects. An internal team including the Creative Director reviews all writing assignments.

Qualifications
  • Excellent command of the English language, especially the rules of syntax, punctuation and grammar
  • Understanding of marketing principles and techniques
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing copywriting
  • Research, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Flexibility and time management skills to allow shifts between various types of content and tackling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Creativity and curiosity
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience in the public health sector
  • Basic understanding of SEO best practices
  • Basic understanding of ad specifications for the various digital platforms (social media platforms, static display, Google search, etc.)
  • Ability to think visually and tell compelling stories
  • Scriptwriting experience
Salary

$48,000 – $58,000

Compensation Package Includes
  • A KAT match of up to 4% of the employee contribution to the employer sponsored 401K retirement program
